Create Connections with an A-Side Token
An A-side service token can be used to create a virtual connection to a service provider or another Equinix Fabric customer as well as your own existing port. This topic demonstrates how to create both types of connections.
Create a Connection to a Service Provider with an A-Side Token

- Log in to Equinix Fabric.

On the Connections menu, click Create a Connection.

Select the service provider or other Equinix Fabric customer you want to connect to.

Click Create Connection.

In the Origin section, click Service Token.

Enter the service token provided by the service provider or other Equinix Fabric customer and click Validate.

Once the service token is validated, click Redeem. The port assigned to you will display in the Origin section.

In the Connection Information section, enter a connection name.

Select a Connection Speed. Connection speed options are pre-defined by the vendor.

Click Next.

Review your order.

Click Submit Order. A confirmation page will display with information about the connection, including the unique ID and a link to view the connection in your Connections Inventory.
Create a Connection to Your Own Port with an A-Side Token

Log in to Equinix Fabric.

On the Connections menu, click Create a Connection.

In the Connect My Assets as E-Line, click Create Connection.

In the Origin section, click Service Token.

Enter the service token provided by the service provider or other Equinix Fabric customer and click Validate.

In the Destination section, click a location.
-
Select a port in the location you selected.

Click Next.

In the Connection Information section, enter a connection name.

In the Destination Tags section:

Z-side Outer Tag or S-tag – Enter the s-tag.

Z-side Inner Tag or C-tag – Enter the c-tag

Enter your Purchase Order Number.

Click Next.

Review your order.

Click Submit Order. A confirmation page will display with information about the connection, including the unique ID and a link to view the connection in your Connections Inventory.
Edit A-Side Token Connection
Both the A-Side token connection bandwidth and the connection name can be edited.
To edit the A-side token connection:
- Log in to Equinix Fabric.

On the Connections menu, click Connection Inventory.

Click the connection you want to edit. The Connection Details will display.

To change the Connection Name:

Click Edit.

Enter a new name for your connection.

Click Confirm.
Note: If you don’t see the name change immediately after clicking Confirm, refresh your browser.

To edit the Bandwidth:

Click Change.
-
Select a new speed in the drop-down menu. The speeds available in the drop-down are limited to those allowed by the service token and the port.

Select I am authorized to make this change and accept the new monthly charge.

Click Confirm to submit the change request. You will receive an email when the connection is updated.
